Summer 2022 Bucket List

Looking for ideas of things to do this summer?

Then you’ve come to the right place! There’s just something about summer that brings out the best in us. Tan lines, sandy toes, green grass, picnics, and sunshine. What more could we ask for from Summer 2022... other than fundamental rights for women and other marginalized communities, gun reform, climate change legislation and fun stuff like that.
Here are a couple of ideas if you're looking for some summer inspiration.

Spend time outside:

  1. Get lunch or dinner to go and enjoy it in the park.
  2. Host a backyard BBQ. Consider inviting someone new!
  3. Go to a drive-in movie.
  4. Visit a local farmer's market and make a meal from your fresh purchases.
  5. Windy day? Go fly some kites!

Move your body :

  1. Get a group together to play frisbee golf.
  2. Practice some yoga stretches.
  3. Ask a friend to help you learn a sport: pickle ball, golf, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and so on.
  4. Go on a walk around a neighborhood you don't live in.
  5. Enjoy a bike ride in the sun. Don't forget a helmet!

 Hang out by the water:

  1. Sunbathe on the beach.
  2. Go swimming at your local pool.
  3. Explore local swimming holes / hot springs.
  4. Take surfing lessons.
  5. Embrace your inner child + have a water balloon fight!

Get some new summer gear:

  1. Buy a pair of hiking boots and explore some trails!
  2. Invest in a lawn chair - for parks, beaches, festivals, etc.
  3. Get a speaker so you can blast your summer playlist.
  4. Snag a pair of cute sunglasses.
  5. Shop for a good pair of shorts that will keep you cool all summer long.

Plan a new experience:

  1. Go “glamping” in the wilderness. We love Wander Camp
  2. Spend the night at a local hotel with no responsibilities. Wander your city like a tourist.
  3. Volunteer at your local humane society. Warning: decide whether or not you can provide a stable home for a new critter before going. Impulse pet adoptions typically aren't the best way to go.
  4. Pick a small town an hour away from you that you've never been and explore it on a Saturday afternoon.
  5. Sign up for a class or workshop to learn a new skill.

Spend time with your loved ones:

  1. Go on a special getaway with your partner or BFF.
  2. Do a craft with a kid in your life.
  3. Visit a relative you haven't seen in a while. Bring a little loaf of bread and some honey-butter. You'll make anyone's day.
  4. Have a movie marathon with friends.
  5. Send a letter to a friend/ family member that lives far away. A letter is such a sweet surprise.
